Bir Vehbi Koç Vakfı kuruluşu olan Arter, 2010 yılının Mayıs ayında, İstiklâl Caddesi’ndeki binasında açıldı ve bu binada 2018 yılına kadar gerçekleştirdiği 35 sergiden sonra 2019’da Dolapdere’deki çok disiplinli bir kültür merkezi niteliği taşıyan yeni yuvasına taşındı. Arter: Sanat İçin Alan Yaratmak, Türkiye’nin kültür hayatında on yılı aşkın süredir varlık gösteren ve ziyaretçilerini sanatın tüm disiplinlerindeki güncel üretimle buluşturan bu kurumun yola çıkışına ve hikâyesine yakından bir bakış sunuyor. Bu kapsamlı kitap, Arter’in 2010-2020 yılları arasındaki öyküsünü on kilit kavram aracılığıyla ele alıyor: Arter, Bellek, Üretim, Yayın, İnşa, Buluşma, Bahane, Ses, Performans ve Beraber. Ayşe Erkmen: Beyazımtırak
Beyazımtırak, Ayşe Erkmen’in Arter’in yeni binasında açılan ve sanatçının Türkiye’deki ilk kurumsal solo sergisi olma niteliği taşıyan aynı isimli sergiye eşlik ediyor. Sergi, Ayşe Erkmen’in 1970’lerden bu yana gerçekleştirdiği sanatsal üretim içinden retrospektif bir anlayışla seçilenlerle birlikte bu sergi için özel olarak tasarlayıp ürettiği yeni işleri bir araya getiriyor. Serginin küratörlüğünü üstlenen Emre Baykal’ın Ayşe Erkmen ile yaptığı söyleşinin yer aldığı kitapta sanatçının 50 yılı aşkın bir süredir kesintisiz şekilde sürdürdüğü sanatsal üretime ışık tutan arşiv fotoğrafları ile birlikte Arter’in yeni binasına uyarlanıp yeni bir ilişkiler ağı içinde sunulan işlerinin görüntülerine yer veriliyor.

Arter initiates a new publication series, Arter Background, to accompany group exhibitions drawn from its collection, which holds more than 1,300 works of art as of 2019. As globalization continues to rapidly evolve, economic borders between countries have practically disappeared. One effect is that nowadays companies can access new markets by investing in other countries. This offers an important advantage especially for international and large-scale companies. However, one result is the increased market competition. Small-scale local firms and SMEs have to compete with international firms and corporations that have significantly more resources. This competitive environment jeopardizes the sustainability of the smaller companies, which often are driven out of business by the more powerful global players.
