Inspired by the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, Lona Truding presents a mature study of esoteric Christian philosophy. She begins with the primordial Garden of Eden and then examines the missions of Christian Rosenkreutz, Mani, Joan of Arc, St. Paul, St. Francis, and Raphael. Today our media-dominated lives are saturated with images, pictures, messages, and information. We have, seemingly, never been so well-informed. But does the insidious materialistic ideology that permeates our civilization allow us truly to understand the phenomena of our time? His clear and highly readable survey covers the lives of famous personalities, films, television, the music scene, and the question of race in our time.
An exploration of life's mysteries prompted by the author's young son asking: Where on earth is heaven? This led to the TV series, The Long Search, and to film making in the African Bush with Laurence van der Post, the hill temples of northern India, San Francisco, a Taiwanese funeral, by train to Arcadia and by bicycle through the lanes of Cornwall -and through his encounter with scientists, artists and philosophers. He believes that a new spirituality is emerging that goes beyond the dualism inherent in phrases like 'spirit and matter', life and death', heaven and earth'.
