Global crop production must substantially increase to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population. This is constrained by the availability of nutrients, water, and land. There is also an urgent need to reduce the negative environmental impacts of crop production. Collectively, these issues represent one of the greatest challenges of the twenty-first century. Sustainable cropping systems based on ecological principles are the core of integrated approaches to solve this critical challenge. This special issue provides an international basis for revealing the underlying mechanisms of sustainable cropping systems to drive agronomic innovations. It includes review and original research articles that report novel scientific findings on improvement in cropping systems related to crop yields and their resistance to biotic and abiotic stressors, resource use efficiency, environmental impact, sustainability, and ecosystem services.
This book focuses on China’s media diplomacy and its interplay with a range of international conflicts. It assesses the representation and framing of China, as well as the perception and reception of China’s media communication in relation to various crises and conflicts. Including detailed analyses of many cases, it highlights the complex, fluid and dynamic relationship between media and conflict, and discusses how this both exemplifies and also affects China’s relations with the outside world. In addition, in contrast to most existing studies of mediatized conflict in the digital age, it provides a very valuable non-Western perspective.

Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are among the most common cancer types affecting millions worldwide with a poor survival rate and prognosis. GI cancers are within the most frequent malignancy, with almost 150,000 new cases in 2020. On one hand, a large number of researches are focused on the diagnosis of GI cancers and more specifically, new diagnostic approaches in upper and lower gastrointestinal tract cancers. On the other hand, in the last 10 years, several papers had been published about the possible therapeutic targets highlighting precision and personalized medicine. The goal of this Research Topic is to provide a discussion regarding new molecular targets for diagnostics, individualized treatment for better survival. We welcome Original Research, Reviews, Systematic Reviews and Mini-Reviews. We particularly welcome research regarding emerging therapeutic targets in GI Cancers and precision and individualized medicine of GI cancers.
