Culture and Emotion in Educational Dynamics
Culture plays a significant role in regulating emotions and influencing the dissemination of education, particularly within diverse geographic locations. However, the impact of culture on emotional dynamics within educational settings is not well understood. This is particularly important within contexts of social and cultural diversity, where schools must navigate cultural and majority emotional dynamics. The aim of this research topic is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art in the field of emotional dynamics in education, with a particular focus on the ways in which culture mediates these dynamics. The topic will also explore the problems and solutions deployed within educational contexts of cultural diversity, with a specific emphasis on school/family and community interaction.
Strategies in the drug discovery and development for leishmaniasis: immunomodulators, natural products, synthetic compounds, and drug repositioning
Leishmaniases are a group of tropical diseases that affect millions of people worldwide. They are considered neglected diseases prevalent in emerging countries in Latin America, West Africa, and Southeast Asia and still occurring in Mediterranean countries. There is no human vaccine available to prevent and control the disease infection. For the last 70 years, the available chemotherapy has been constituted by first-line (pentavalent antimonials) and second-line drugs (amphotericin B, pentamidine, paramomycin, and miltefosine). Its route of administration is difficult, the treatment is long, and its efficiency varies depending on the parasite species and clinical manifestations, which results in the emergence of resistant cases. Moreover, they present high toxicity to patients, and even some less toxic formulations available, are still expensive for the poorest countries’ vulnerable populations. This often leads to abandonment and failure of treatment. The medical-scientific community is facing difficulties to overcome these issues with new suitable therapies, and the identification of new drug targets. So, it means that efforts to identify new strategies must continue.
Workplace Moods and Emotions
The review article in this short book examines the nature, causes and consequences of affect at work. It focuses on two major categories of affect: moods and discrete emotions. The review is aimed at readers with an interest in affect and well-being at work, including researchers, practitioners, lecturers, and students of organizational and occupational psychology. Topics covered include: the nature of momentary affect; why it is important to study fluctuations in affect; major theories and methods that facilitate research on affect in the workplace; empirical evidence concerning the characteristics of the worker and work environment that cause mood; the consequences of mood for workers; the causes and consequences of discrete emotions at work (e.g., anger and envy); and future research challenges.

20 Anos Do Prêmio Gazeta De Limeira De Literatura
Instituído em 1991, o Prêmio Gazeta de Limeira de Literatura tem o objetivo de incentivar a leitura e a redação entre os estudantes da rede pública e particular de ensino. A participação no concurso se dá através das escolas de Limeira, Iracemápolis, Cordeirópolis e Engenheiro Coelho, que pré-selecionam os textos entregues aos professores de Português. Os estudantes cujos trabalhos mais se destacam são premiados em solenidade cívica, que em 2010 aconteceu na noite de 27 de outubro, no Teatro Vitória, em Limeira, quando os autores dos textos que compõem esta obra, tiveram seus esforços reconhecidos, pois defenderam com criatividade, correção e interesse o tema “A vida on-line: conhecimento, diversão e perigos”. Nessa coletânea em comemoração aos 20 anos do Prêmio, o leitor acompanha também todos os premiados das edições anteriores.
