Enfim, a obra é um convite ao pensamento reflexivo, abrangente e contextual em torno da necessidade real de análise dos diversos temas e aspectos em Educação.
Janelas para o outro
Janelas para o outro surgiu na pandemia, entre 2020 e 2021. Da noite para o dia, em março de 2020, ficamos todos isolados e confinados, cada um na sua casa, no seu canto, no seu lugar. Uma quarentena que se prolongou por 2021, afetando a moral, o emocional, o psiquismo, a saúde mental de muitos de nós, além, evidentemente, da saúde física e da vida de outros. Nenhum ou quase nenhum contato social, exceto pelas janelinhas do Zoom, do Google Meet, do Whatsapp, do Messenger, onde criamos arremedos de vida social e acadêmica, ao longo de meses e meses de isolamento e desalento, em que o outro tornou-se o maior problema, ao mesmo tempo em que se constituía na maior falta. E muitos, muitíssimos encontros virtuais, pelas janelinhas da internet. Reuniões, bancas, aulas, palestras, lives com a família e amigos. O contato social, profissional, acadêmico e afetivo passou a ser feito pelos quadradinhos de aplicativos e plataformas, em modo remoto. E aí, surgiu a obsessão da ideia do outro, da falta que ele nos faz, do que representa para cada um, da importância da vida e do contato social, de quais seriam as janelas para esse outro que nos falta e amedronta, ao mesmo tempo.

Weathering

Weathering can also denote the ways in which subjects and objects resist and pass through storms and adversity. This volume contemplates weathering across many fields and disciplines; its contributions examine various surfaces, environments, scales, temporalities, and vulnerabilities. What does it mean to weather or withstand? Who or what is able to pass through safely? What is lost or gained in the process?
Leishmaniasis
Of all the parasitic diseases, leishmaniasis is one of the most diverse, with a variety of manifestations, from relatively minor cutaneous lesions to deadly visceral infections. It is also widespread, causing human disease in the Americas, Asia, Europe and Africa. The environments in which this disease occurs range from desert to tropical jungle to urban habitats. Not surprisingly, the literature on this disease is written in a variety of languages including Portuguese, Arabic, English and French among others. This book provides a synopsis in English of much of the recent research on leishmaniasis, with a focus on the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of the disease as described by researchers around the world, but with a focus on the research from Brazil and the Middle East.
