In my first book 'The Muscle Whisperer - The keys to Unlocking Your Back Pain' I looked at how the physical body held onto emotional pain and gave easy step-by-step solutions, through diet and movement, that could help resolve it. The book received great reviews and a huge positive response, so I decided to look further into how the mind creates the physical pain using further research. Book two, 'Desperately Seeking A Pain Free Self' focused more on the connection of how our thoughts and inner conversations we have with our self, lead to chemical changes in the body, that eventually, create physical pain. I also looked at the relationship we have between the adult and inner child within our...

A book about choices. A book to empower all cancer sufferers and their families. In March 2011 Laura Bond's mother Gemma was diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer. Laura discovered that the only thing more shocking than telling someone your mother has cancer was revealing that she had declined chemotherapy. But, according to studies, many oncologists would do the same. So Laura, a journalist, started writing a blog to explain her mother's decision to say 'no' to mainstream medicine and 'yes' to hydrogen peroxide, vitamin C injections and infrared saunas. Mum's Not Having Chemo shares Gemma's natural healing story as well as advice from over 60 of the world's leading cancer specialists and holistic healers - from oncologists in Tokyo to energy healers in Harley Street. If you want to explore alternative options, or find ways to supplement your conventional care, this book provides cutting edge research from around the world and describes treatments road-tested by Gemma and other cancer survivors. It's an invaluable and uplifting companion to help you make the best choices for your own healing journey.
This special issue proposes an alternative to traditional individualistic approaches to the development of mind, that might generally be called sociocultural approaches and focus on the institutional, cultural, and historical specificity of mental functioning rather than on universals. All socioculturalists agree that (a) interaction with other people and artifacts plays an important role in learning and in the development of mind, and (b) what occurs in the micro-environment in which individual learning is observed is affected by larger contexts, both at community and global levels. This publication offers some theoretical and empirical discussion about the constitution of culture in mind. Developmentalists belonging to the mainstream will profit from this special issue as well as those who have found sociocultural approaches interesting but who are yet to embody their inspiration into research enterprise.
