Visions of the Multiverse

The idea of a multiple universe reality is no longer considered speculative or implausible by many physicists; rather, it is deemed inescapable. Distinct concepts of the multiverse spring from quantum mechanics, cosmology, string theory-based cosmology, and ideas about a mathematics based reality that borders on the religious. In this accessible and entertaining book, Dr. Manly guides you on a tour of the many multiverse concepts and provides the non-technical background to understand them.Visions of the Multiverse explores questions such as:•Just what is a multiverse?•What are the different concepts of the multiverse and how are they related?•Is it possible to determine if we live in a multiverse...or even in multiple types of multiverses?•How do religious concepts of the afterlife and popular ideas based on the Law of Attraction relate to the scientific visions of the multiverse?Dr. Manly discusses a wide variety of fascinating concepts from relativity and the fundamental particles and forces of nature to dark matter, dark energy, and quantum mechanics in an unintimidating and conversational tone.Is humanity is in the midst of a new Copernican revolution? You decide.

Relativity and Quantum Physics For Beginners

As we humans have expanded our horizons to see things vastly smaller, faster, larger, and farther than ever before, we have been forced to confront preconceptions born of the human experience and create wholly new ways of looking at the world around us. The theories of relativity and quantum physics were developed out of this need and have provided us with phenomenal, mind-twisting insights into the strange and exciting reality show of our universe. Relativity and Quantum Physics For Beginners is an entertaining and accessible introduction to the bizarre concepts that fueled the scientific revolution of the 20th century and led to amazing advances in our understanding of the universe.

The Noosphere is a "thinking atmosphere" that has been evolving on Earth since the dawn of humanity. The internet is a physical manifestation of it: a worldwide linked network. What comes next? Does mind detach itself from bodies? Can the collective consciousness of humanity leave Earth and enter the heavens? Is the Noosphere a Soul Sphere, composed of the souls of all good people and leaving behind the evil? Imagine the Soul Sphere merging with God. Is that the ultimate destiny of higher humanity? The Noosphere will not be powered by faith, prayers or superstition. Ontological mathematics and hyperreason will be its engines. This is the story of the highest human thought, how it's leaving behind materialism and realizing the truth of existence - that we inhabit an immortal, indestructible mental Singularity outside space and time and that the illusion of materialism is produced by holography. The universe is a self-generating, intelligent, living hologram, comprised of infinite souls.

Fundamental Particles and Interactions

The scope of this workshop was extended from the last one two years ago in two areas to reflect the current interest in interconnect metallization. First, the topics in metallization were extended to include problems related to atomic transport for reflow and filling of vias and contact holes, silicadation, and barrier metals. These topics are of particular interest for the development of the current quarter- micron metallization. The second was to include metallization for liquid crystal display of devices and surface acoustic devices in addition to semiconductor devices. Problems related to mass transport in these devices have become increasingly important, in some cases more so than those in semiconductor devices. Several papers were presented to discuss the similarities and differences of these phenomena and their mechanisms, focusing on the questions concerning why and how atoms migrate and what are the effects of the migration.

Fil Saati
