Psychosocial Aspects of Skin Conditions and Diseases
There is a growing recognition of the interplay between psychosocial factors and skin disease in relation to disease onset, flare-up, adaptation, and management. Many skin conditions are complex systemic diseases which are influenced by psychophysiological factors, and which in turn have the potential to trigger psychological distress. Further, it is well established that skin conditions ranging from acne and alopecia to psoriasis and vitiligo can be associated with considerable psychosocial burden, stigmatisation, and outright discrimination. Unfortunately, despite recent advances in medical treatments for a number of skin conditions, evidence based psychological interventions specifically targeting distress associated with skin conditions remain in short supply.

Social Psychological Perspectives on Stigma
The year 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the publication Erving Goffman's landmark work, Stigma: Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity. Through this edited volume, we commemorate the continuing contribution of Goffman's work on stigma to social psychology. As Goffman originally used the term, stigma implies some sort of negative deviance, or in his words, ‘an undesired differentness from what we had anticipated.’ Since Goffman’s pioneering treatise, there have been thousands of articles published on different aspects of stigma. The accelerating volume of articles is testimony to the growing importance of stigma research, with almost three out of four of the stigma-related publications in the research literature appearing in the last 10 years. In this volume, a collection of up-and-coming and seasoned stigma researchers provide both theoretical insights and new empirical findings. Women's Suffrage Memorabilia
While historians have long recognized the importance of memorabilia to the Woman Suffrage movement, the subject has not been explored apart from a few restricted, albeit excellent, studies. Part of the problem is that such objects are scattered about in various collections and museums and can be difficult to access. Another is that most scholars do not have ready knowledge 1of the general nature and history of the type of objects (postcards, badges, sashes, toys, ceramics, sheet music, etc.) that suffragists produced. Then-new techniques in both printing and manufacturing created numerous possibilities for supporters to develop campaigns of "visual rhetoric." This work analyzes 70 different categories of suffrage memorabilia, while providing numerous images of relevant objects along the way and discussing these innovative production methods. Most important, this study looks at period accounts, often fascinating, of how, why when, and where the memorabilia were used in both America and England.
