What Is Man?

"To my readers I would say that, although the main subject of the tripartite nature of man is such a controversial one, this book is not entered as a part of the controversy. Such a course would only be to contradict its main contention—that Divine things can only be entered into by revelation and never by reason. Indeed, I have no wish that anyone should read this book unless they are really exercised about reality and spiritual things. I would ask for openness of heart as the one concession to the Spirit of truth if, peradventure, He might be ready to use what is written here for enlightenment. "The book goes out with a prayer which comes from long ago, 'that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your heart enlightened' (Eph. 1:17)." The School of Christ

The ministry contained in this little book has been wrought on the anvil of deep and drastic dealings of God with the vessel. It is not only doctrinal; it is experiential. Only those who really mean business with God will take the pains demanded to read it. For such, two words of advice may be helpful. Firstly, try to remember all through that the spoken form is retained. The messages were given in conference, and the reader must try to get into the spirit and mind of listening, and not only reading. In speaking, the messenger can see by the faces before him where repetition or reemphasis or fuller elucidation is called for. This explains much that would not be the character of a precisely literary production. It has its difficulties for readers, but it also has its values. Of all the books that have issued from this ministry, I regard this one as that which goes most deeply to the roots and foundations of our life in Christ with God. T.A-S.

All Things In Christ

ALL THINGS IN CHRIST. God's answer to everything, God's explanation of everything, God's means of realizing everything is a Man, "the man Christ Jesus". When this world has run its evil course, this inhabited earth will be judged in a Man. Men will be judged by what their inward relationship is to that Man. The question at the judgment will never be of how much good or bad, right or wrong, more or less, is in a man; it will turn upon this one point, Are you in Christ? If not, more or less makes no difference. God's intention, God's proclamation is that all things are in His Son. Are you in Him? Why not? The basis of judgment is very simple. It is all gathered up in a Man, and what is in that Man of God for us. That is the basis of judgment. It all comes back to the very simple, and yet comprehensive and blessed truth, that it is what Christ is that satisfies God, reaches God's end, and meets all our need. It is all summed up in a Man, "the man Christ Jesus". T.A-S.

Prophetic Ministry

The harvest is ready. Are you ready to gather it in? Jesus said that the harvest is ripe, and He has chosen His church to bring it in. Toward that end, He has given us a very powerful tool: prophetic ministry. It is a ministry that shows God's love and care to those who do not yet know the Lord Jesus Christ by revealing His plans and purposes for them. Ben Peters knows from first-hand experience the value and effectiveness of prophetic ministry as an evangelistic tool. Along with his wife Brenda, he has been doing prophetic ministry since 1999 and has seen countless salvations, healings and miracles as a result. In this timely book you will learn about: * How prophetic ministry builds up, encourages and activates believers for harvest evangelism. * How prophetic ministry prepares the way for signs and wonders, leading to salvation for many. * How to hear prophetic words from God with greater clarity. * How prophetic ministry can help you overcome the fear of evangelism. * How to prepare for effective prophetic ministry. * How to multiply prophetic ministry and increase the harvest by developing mentoring relationships.

Discipleship in the School of Christ

Chapter 1 - The Chief Occupation of a Disciple Chapter 2 - The Nature of Divine Life Chapter 3 - The Quality of Divine Life Chapter 4 - Divine Life, Unlimited by Time and Space Chapter 5 - Divine Life and Deliverance from Bondage to Sin and Death Chapter 6 - Divine Life: All-Sufficient and Inexhaustible Chapter 7 - Divine Life: Triumphant Over Natural Forces Chapter 8 - Divine Life by Spiritual Sight Chapter 9 - Divine Life: Overcoming Death in its Fullness In the New Testament the Lord's people were called by various names, and these were the names by which Christians came to be known. Most of the names were given to them by themselves, but there were two exceptions. The name “Christian” was someone's joke. The inhabitants of Antioch found this a very suitable title for these people. And then there was another word which was taken over from more common use, and, whilst not particularly their own choice for themselves, it became the name by which they were more usually known than any other.

Within this volume are eight of Sparks' books, all on the subject of Ministry. T. Austin Sparks said of one of these books, The School of Christ, that "it had been wrought on the anvil of deep and drastic dealings of God with the vessel," and that of all the books that issued from his ministry, The School of Christ went most deeply to the roots and foundations of our life in Christ with God. All of these books will move you by their liberating, refreshing message. That the Lord might recover a people set free from all ecclesiastical, religious, traditional limits and bounds -- a people in the Spirit! May these books cause you to examine modern Christianity and your own position to see if it is a set system, a tradition, an inheritance; or whether it is really, now, bringing to the Land and the goal, the fullness of Christ. Read this man. His words are unlike any others. There is depth and there are glimpses of the unseen realm such as are found in the writings of few other authors. Book jacket.

The Anointing of the Holy Spirit

"I am quite sure that many of the Lord’s people are none too clear upon the different aspects of the Holy Spirit’s Presence and ministry in the life of the believer, and that there is a good deal of confusion; that terms become mixed and there is not clear discernment of the specific significance of each term used in the Word of God. I mean the fact that we hear of those in the New Testament who were baptised with the Spirit, and filled with the Spirit, and sealed by the Spirit, and anointed; and it is important that we should be able to discriminate on these matters. It is not my intention to lead you out in such a discrimination that may come itself as we go on. What I am concerned and occupied with is the anointing as representing some particular aspect of the Holy Spirit’s presence and work." T. Austin-Sparks

This biography of Theodore Austin-Sparks covers his life from childhood to the end of his ministry. It includes many excerpts from his bi-monthly journal, "A Witness and a Testimony" and also includes short summaries of 28 books he published throughout his ministry. The ministry of T. Austin-Sparks portrays a profound picture of Christ and of God's eternal purpose to head up all things in Christ. On the side of personal experience, his ministry opens the door to a deep inward work of the cross of Christ, and inward knowing of the Spirit, and an inward working of God's divine life. He portrays this experience in the context of a local assembly and emphasizes that the church, not merely individual believers, is the unique instrument through which God will gain His eternal goal.
