Is mankind alone in the universe? Will we ever encounter intelligent life beyond Earth? These questions have been asked for centuries. Recent advances in the fields of astrophysics, astronomy and astrobiology make it more likely than ever before, that Earth may not be the only inhabited planet, and that humanity may not the only intelligent species in the universe. What would be the consequences of contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence? This question is at the heart of the emerging discipline of exosociology. According to the authors, first contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence poses enormous risks for humanity. These risks come not only from extraterrestrials, but above all from ourselves. We should be prepared. Michael Schetsche and Andreas Anton's comprehensive introduction to exosociology was first published in German in 2019. The book has been widely acclaimed in Germany and internationally. It is now available in English for the first time.

Working from theoretical and clinical perspectives, the field’s leading experts address trauma in situations that range from the psychological effects of “...
The book of Ezekiel has long astonished its readership. In the history of exegesis, the book's (supposed) author has often been regarded as mad or ill, or as suffering from "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" according to a recent diagnosis. The present study radicalizes this approach by investigating the book of Ezekiel as trauma literature. On the basis of a multi-faceted trauma hermeneutics the peculiarities as well as the inconsistencies of the book are shown to be material aspects of a fictionalised trauma process in the context of Israel's experiences of siege warfare and mass deportation in the early 6th century bce. The analysis demonstrates that the potential for violence inherent in t...
Much has already been written about trauma psychotherapeutic methods. However, little research has so far been done on how psychodynamic traumatic incidents are psychologically mapped and coded into symptoms of the body and into mental images – although this topic is extremely exciting! How is psychological stressful data saved and stored by humans depending on their age, the cruelty level of the incident or the accumulation of terrible events? Which variants of remembrance are available to the body and mind? How can encrypted data be later retrieved and decrypted, so it is therapeutically effective and emotionally acceptable? This book is a collection of theoretical and practical contributions that can be understood by psychotherapeutic colleagues and affected clients alike. The illustrative case examples are also interesting for anyone who wants to experience the logic and contradictions of the fascinating unconscious.

Memories change over time because they are constantly being reconstructed. This can also result in memories of experiences that never existed. The way the brain works does not differentiate between real and imagined content. Pseudo-memories arise particularly easily in psychotherapy through suggestive speculation about traumas suffered, such as sexual abuse. Those undergoing therapy are firmly convinced of the reality of these false memories. They suffer just as much as those who were really abused. They blame innocent people. Families are destroyed, livelihoods are threatened and there are only losers. It gets particularly bad when conspiracy theories of ritual abuse and victim programming are involved.
Was sagen Statistiken? Was sagen Wissenschaftler/innen, Behörden, Organisationen? Was ist Trauma überhaupt?
