Poetics of Loss
With the removal of death from the public sphere, mourning has become a private matter. At the same time, particularly in poetry, the trend is reversed. An intensely elegiac quality and a focus on absence, death, and loss can be observed in contemporary Anglophone poetry. This study examines the poetry of Andrew Motion in the context of the contemporary elegy, a genre which is at a crossroads between the anti-consolatory refusal to mourn, the inability to move past grief, and the strong wish for redemption from grief. Motion's poetry, which mainly deals with preemptive attempts to cope with loss, can be seen as a typical example for the contemporary melancholy mood in poetry. Nanosystems Design and Technology
Nanosystems use new, nanoscopic electrical and/or mechanical devices which, as constituents of electronic and electromechanical systems, find application primarily in computing, embedded control and biomedical data acquisition. Dictatorship, Democracy, and Transitional Justice in Global Legal History
The anthology presents the lectures given on the symposium »From Dictatorship to democracy« at the House of the Wannsee Conference on 13–14 September 2021. The aim of the organizers was to show what problems existed during the transition from dictatorship to democracy in several countries around the world. They all enacted laws or other measures to ensure that fundamental rights and the rule of law would resist anti-democratic ideologies, anti-Semitism, racism, and war crimes in the future. However, the legal system and law in these countries themselves often had their origins in dictatorship. Thus, there were and are obvious and hidden anti-democratic continuities that influence law and the legal system up to the present. Scientifics and jurists from Italy, Japan, Poland, Spain, South Africa, and Germany examine these continuities in their contributions.

Dieser stellt eine Art Konstrukt im Gesamtwerk des Autors dar, ist ein teils fiktives Puzzle aus Text-, Fernseh- und Theaterbausteinen. Kluges ?imagin„rer Opernfhrer? soll neben bereits komponierten Werken auch solche verzeichnen, die den zuknftigen Erfahrungsgehalt unserer Zeit widerspiegeln. Dabei verfolgt der Autor eine ?Entdramatisierung? der Oper, um dem tragischen Opernfinale eine glckliche Alternative entgegenzusetzen. Kluges Verst„ndnis von der Oper als ?Kraftwerk der Gefhle?, das den emotionalen Erfahrungsgehalt der Menschheit abbildet, ist hierfr entscheidend.
