Two European intergovernmental bodies were established as a result of the Conference. This title documents the history of the collaboration of the ECE Timber Committee (later, the Committee on Forests and the Forest Industry) and the FAO European Forestry Commission.
Guidebook on Promoting Good Governance in Public-private Partnerships
This guidebook offers training modules for the promotion of public-private partnerships in the delivery of public services. PPPs in theory are supposed to combine the best of both worlds. The private sector with its resources, management skills and technology; and the public sector with its regulatory actions and protection of the public interest provide a balance in delivering public service. PPPs though are also complex in nature, requiring different types of skills and new enabling institutions and they lead to changes in the status of public sector jobs. To work well, they require "good governance", that is, well-functioning institutions, transparent, efficient procedures and accountable and competent public and private sectors. This guidebook therefore seeks to elaborate best practice and is aimed at policymakers, government officials and the private sector.

European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways (ADN)
The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways (ADN) was adopted at a conference held in May 2000 under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Central Commission for the Navigation on the Rhine (CCNR). This two-volume publication includes the Final Act of the conference, the Resolution adopted, the Agreement and the annexed Regulations, as revised as of January 2007. It includes chapters on: general provisions; classification; dangerous goods list, special provisions and exemptions related to dangerous goods packed in limited quantities; provisions concerning the use of packagings, tank and bulk transport units; consignment procedures; requirements for the construction and testing of packagings, tanks and bulk transport units; requirements concerning the loading, carriage, unloading and handling of cargo; provisions for vessel crews, equipment, operation and documentation; and the rules for construction.
#Housing2030: Effective Policies for Affordable Housing in the UNECE Region
The study explores housing affordability challenges and existing policy instruments for improving housing affordability in the regions covered by UNECE and presents examples of "good practices" in improving housing affordability among countries and cities. The study focuses on four topics, namely: housing governance and regulation; access to finance and funding; access and availability of land for housing construction; and Climate-neutral housing construction and renovation.
