The total of 90 papers presented in these two volumes was carefully reviewed and selected from 228 submissions. The contributions are organized in the following topical section: Part I: Evolutionary computation, metaheuristics, constrains and search, combinatorial and numerical optimization; neural networks, deep learning and computer vision; and text mining and natural language processing. Part II: Agent and multi-agent systems, planning and reinforcement learning; knowledge representation, logic and fuzzy systems; machine learning and data mining; and multidisciplinary artificial and computational intelligence and applications. Accumulation & Innovation
This work focuses on the experience of a Brazilian cassava starch agro-industry in developing its technological capabilities since 1917, when it was first established. Its main purpose is to explore how the process of technological progress which occurred along with that industrialization, especially regarding the starch industry, has been determined by the following variables: I) the pattern of capital accumulation, II) the capability of the related technical base to both the promotion or absorption of technological changes, and III) firms' strategies towards innovation.
Formal Methods: Foundations and Applications

Language Contact
