Wadsworth Watch Case Co. In 1889 Harry A. Wadsworth, along with partners J. H. Stegeman and H. Remke, built the first Wadsworth Watch Case Co. in Newport, KY. This partnership was dissolved in 1892. The company became incorporated and by 1899 moved its operation to Dayton, KY where it remained until 1958.Wadsworth Watch Case Co. was a major employer in Campbell County, KY in the early 1940s. At its peak it employed 1,350 workers. This book covers the company's history as a watch case manufacturer that was converted to a manufacturing plant during World War II dedicated to the production of war materials and gun parts. They produced more than100 million precision parts for the war effort. Wadsworth's quality production work earned them five separate Army-Navy "E" awards. "Waddy's" as it was affectionately called, had a lasting impact on the community and its employees. Harry A. Wadsworth fostered patriotism, civic duty, and lasting friendships. We trust we have paid a lasting tribute to his legacy.

Miller ignores the warning about visiting a haunted island and soon mysterious things begin to occur with his friends! Excerpt: "Captain's Island is not far from civilisation as one measures space. Dealing with the less tangible medium of custom, it is—or was—practically beyond perception. James Miller didn't know this. When he had thought at all of his friend Anderson's new winter home he had pictured the familiar southern resort with hotels and cottages sheltering Hammonds peerage, and a seductive bathing beach to irritate the conservative."

Mr. Penrose

An 18th century sailor is cast away in a multi-ethnic New World in this long-neglected classic regarded as the first American novel every written. Mr. Penrose narrates the adventures of a Llewellin Penrose who flees an unhappy home life to seek his fortune on the high seas. Having learned the sailor’s trade, Penrose survives a series of nautical mishaps, only to be cast adrift on the Mosquito Coast.
