Dynamic Functional Connectivity in Neuropsychiatric Disorders: Methods and Applications, volume II

Neuropsychiatric disorders have a huge impact on individuals, families and societies. However, the neuropathology underlying cognitive deficits in neuropsychiatric disorders remains unclear. Resting-state functional connectivity provides a powerful way to investigate functional alterations underlying cognitive deficits in neuropsychiatric disorders. Traditional FC analysis measures the correlations of signals with an assumption that functional connectivity remains constant during the observation period. In recent years, several studies have demonstrated the feasibility of dynamic methods in characterization of functional brain changes, such as dynamic functional connectivity investigated by a sliding window method. However, selection of window size, window stepsize and window type are open areas of research and an important parameter to capture the resting-state FC dynamics.

Advances in Neuroergonomics and Cognitive Engineering

This book offers a broad overview of the field of cognitive engineering and neuroergonomics, covering emerging practices and future trends toward the harmonious integration of human operators and computational systems. It gathers both theoretical and practice-oriented studies on mental workload and stress, activity theory, human reliability, error and risk. It covers applications in various field, and corresponding strategies to make assistive technologies more user-oriented. Further, the book describes key advances in our understanding of cognitive processes, including mechanisms of perception, memory, reasoning, and motor response, with a particular focus on their role in interactions between humans and other elements of computer-based systems. Gathering the proceedings of the AHFE 2021 Conferences on Neuroergonomics and Cognitive Engineering, Industrial Cognitive Ergonomics and Engineering Psychology, and Cognitive Computing and Internet of Things, held virtually on July 25-29, 2021, from USA, this book offers extensive information and a thought-provoking guide for researchers and practitioners in cognitive engineering, neuroergonomics and their applications.

Clinical Application of Psychiatric Assessment and Treatment in Psychosomatic Diseases

Psychosomatic diseases are a group of diseases closely related to psychosocial factors but mainly manifested by somatic symptoms, involving respiratory, digestive, endocrine, and other systems. As a result, the lack of consensus on its diagnosis has plagued clinical treatment in internal medicine, surgery, and psychiatry for decades. In recent years, research on the pathogenesis of psychosomatic diseases has made significant progress. For example, Franz Alexander believes that unresolved subconscious conflicts are the main cause of psychosomatic disorders. The subconscious psychological conflict is caused by the changes in the functional activities of the autonomic nervous system, acting on ...
