Book sculptures
Helfried Hagenberg (born 1940) was one of the first artists to explore the book's sculptural volume, as though it were marble--or wood. The sculptor cuts, hones, folds, deconstructs and shapes the "wood of the book" with a mathematical precision, creating "psaligraphic sculptures."
