Clinical and Basic Aspects of Neurofibromatosis Type 1
Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), also known as von Recklinghausen disease, is a major monogenic neurocutaneous disorder. The NF1 gene encodes the protein neurofibromin whose dysfunction promotes tumorigenesis in central and peripheral neuronal tissues. In addition to inducing the formation of cutaneous pigmented lesions or neurofibromas, NF1 affects multiple organ systems, resulting in neurological and psychiatric disorders, orthopedic conditions, and impaired endocrine functions. This book examines the fundamental, clinical, and basic aspects of NF1 over three sections and nine chapters. Topics addressed include bone lesions in children with NF1, diffuse neurofibromatous tissue, seizures in adults with NF1, Ras-GAP function of neurofibromin, endocrine disorders characteristic of NF1, and more.
Approximation, Randomization, and Combinatorial Optimization. Algorithms and Techniques
This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 13th International Workshop on Approximation Algorithms for Combinatorial Optimization Problems, APPROX 2010, and the 14th International Workshop on Randomization and Computation, RANDOM 2010, held in Barcelona, Spain, in September 2010. The 28 revised full papers of the APPROX 2010 workshop and the 29 revised full papers of the RANDOM 2010 workshop included in this volume, were carefully reviewed and selected from 66 and 61 submissions, respectively. APPROX focuses on algorithmic and complexity issues surrounding the development of efficient approximate solutions to computationally difficult problems. RANDOM is concerned with applications of randomness to computational and combinatorial problems.

Data on nutritional status of human populations are periodically needed, as well as their relationships with anthropometry, body composition, body image and energy expenditure, and also with health lifestyle outcomes. All these parameters contribute jointly to give a complete knowledge on dietary and lifestyle habits, and hence how to proceed to improve it in order to enjoy an optimal healthy status. So, you are kindly invited to submit proposals for manuscripts that fit the objectives and the topics of this Nutrients Special issue.The aim of this proposed Nutrients Special Issue on "Anthropometry, Body Composition and Resting Energy Expenditure in Humans" is to publish selected papers detailing specific aspects of anthropometric, body composition and energy expenditure data in human populations and their relationships with nutritional status, as well as nutritional surveys and trials that examine measured differences or changes in these parameters are also cordially invited.

Property Testing
This book introduces important results and techniques in property testing, where the goal is to design algorithms that decide whether their input satisfies a predetermined property in sublinear time, or even in constant time – that is, time is independent of the input size. This book consists of three parts. The first part provides an introduction to the foundations of property testing. The second part studies the testing of specific properties on strings, graphs, functions, and constraint satisfaction problems. Vectors and matrices over real numbers are also covered. The third part is more advanced and explains general conditions, including full characterizations, under which properties are constant-query testable. The first and second parts of the book are intended for first-year graduate students in computer science. They should also be accessible to undergraduate students with the adequate background. The third part can be used by researchers or ambitious graduate students who want to gain a deeper theoretical understanding of property testing.
