Die in diesem Buch zusammengetragenen Untersuchungen befassen sich mit der Zuwanderung von Slaven und Prußen vom Balkan und aus Kleinasien. Sie machen auf eine Lücke im Wissen von der Landnahme dieser Völker in Mitteleuropa aufmerksam, die in den Lehrvorstellungen der scholastischen Onomastik bislang keine Resonanz gefunden hat. Nach der seit dem 19. Jahrhundert herrschenden Meinung hat es eine Immigration von Süden her nicht gegeben. Selbst wenn das onomastische Material des kolossalen Siedlungsraumes von Kiel bis an die Memel nicht systematisch durchforstet werden konnte, machen die Arbeiten dieses Buches doch deutlich, daß es sogar eine massive Zuwanderung aus dem Süden gegeben hat....
