Host matriks gelas berbasis pada gelas borat dan fosfat dengan masing-masing formula adalah (65-x)B2O3-15Na2O-10PbO-5ZnO-5Li2O -xNd2O3 (x = 0,0; 0,05; 0,1; 0,5; 1,0; 2,0 dan 4,0 mol%) dan (50-x)P2O5-8Al2O3-12Na2O-10KF-10CaO -10CaF2-xNd2O3 (x = 0,0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5 dan 2,0 mol%). Metode melt-quenching dengan suhu peleburan sampai dengan 1200 oC digunakan dalam proses pendopingan ion Nd3+ untuk memperoleh kehomogenan komposisi gelas. Untuk memperoleh informasi terkait struktur gelas, sifat-sifat optik dan radiatif lainnya maka dilakukan beberapa pengamatan dan pengukuran terhadap gelas yang dibangun. Pengukuran indeks bias dan kerapatan gelas masing-masing dilakukan dengan menggunakan Atago Refractometer dan prinsip Arcimedes.
Pada bab selanjutnya diikuti dengan penjelasan secara teoritis mengenai Gelas Sebagai Host Laser Ion Nd3+, deskripsi gelas fosfat (P2O5), Struktur Gelas Fosfat, Sifat Optik Didoping Ion Nd3+ , Koefisien Absorpsi dan Emisi, Ion Neodymium (Nd3+) dan Level Energi, Gelas Fosfat (P2O5) yang Didoping Nd3+ dan Karakterisasi Sampel. This book offers low-cost and rapid molecular assays for the characterization of mutant plant germplasm. Detailed protocols are provided for the desiccation of plant tissues; the extraction of high-quality DNA for downstream applications; the extraction of single-strand-specific nucleases for single nucleotide polymorphism; and small insertion/deletion discovery using standard agarose gel electrophoresis. The methods described can be applied in any laboratory equipped for basic molecular biology and do away with the need for expensive freezers and toxic organic compounds. With the appropriate validation of sample quality and longevity, they can provide sufficient DNA for a variety of molecular applications, such as marker studies and TILLING, at approximately one tenth of the cost per sample when compared to commercial kits.
This open access book applies for the first time emerging concepts of socioeconomics to analyse an economic sector, namely agriculture. It considers the rational choices of all actors in the system (just as agricultural economists do) and their cultural preferences and constraints (just as rural sociologists do). Socioeconomic concepts are subsequently used to structure agricultural issues with regard to the three governance mechanisms (hierarchy, markets, and cooperation), and different agricultural systems are presented and compared. The book will be of interest to social scientists with various backgrounds, and seeks to break down the barriers of single-disciplinary thinking.
