Based on the real life accounts of dozens of survivors, hundreds of hours of recordings, hundreds of pages of transcripts, documents and newspaper clippings and thousands of photographs, “This Home Was Never Mine” is a book which retraces the life of one religious minority family from Lombok, Indonesia from how people began treating them differently, systematically driven from their homes, endures harassment and discrimination with no government protection, placed in an abandoned government building where they remain to this day.
