Theology of Ministry
Theology of ministry has always been a controversial issue in the relation between churches, especially with its juridical approach that concentrated on authority. In recent decades the secularization and individualization in the Western world have intensified the challenge to reformulate the mission of the church and its ministries. Building on the Reformed theology of the 16th century (Zwingli, Calvin and confessions) and on the results of the ecumenical convergence on ministry (BEM) in the 20th century, this study presents building blocks for a renewed theology of ministry in the 21st century.

Calvin's New Testament Commentaries

Calvin's Christology
Stephen Edmondson articulates a coherent Christology from Calvin's commentaries and his Institutes. He argues that, through the medium of Scripture's history, Calvin, the biblical humanist, renders a Christology that seeks to capture both the breadth of God's multifaceted grace enacted in history, and the hearts of God's people formed by history. What emerges is a picture of Christ as the Mediator of God's covenant through his threefold office of priest, king and prophet. Freedom
The International Reformed Theological Institute (IRTI) was founded in 1995. Its purpose is, above all, to create a platform where Reformed theologians from all over the world can meet each other, get acquainted with each other's work, discuss theological issues and stimulate each other in scholarly theological research. Most of the articles in this volume which contains the contributions to the first conference bear upon the theme of Freedom, and often do so in a very concrete way from the perspective of the totally change political situation in the world. Next to these one finds other scholarly theological contributions. The devotional contributions to the conference have been included as well. Thus, not only does this volume provide us with reactions to the events of the last few years on the part of a number of involved theologians, but it also offers a striking perspective on the theological insights and spirituality of Reformed theologians all over the world. That is exactly the purpose of this series of Studies in Reformed Theology.
