The year 2019 has been prolific in terms of new evidence regarding the effects of coffee and caffeine consumption on diverse aspects of human functioning. This book collects 20 high-quality manuscripts published in Nutrients that include original investigation or systematic review studies of the effects of caffeine intake on human performance and health. The diversity of the articles published in this Special Issue highlights the extent of the effects of coffee and caffeine on human functioning, while underpinning the positive nature of most of these effects. This open access book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Conference on String Processing and Information Retrieval, ICOST 2020, held in Hammamet, Tunisia, in June 2020.* The 17 full papers and 23 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 49 submissions. They cover topics such as: IoT and AI solutions for e-health; biomedical and health informatics; behavior and activity monitoring; behavior and activity monitoring; and wellbeing technology. *This conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This Proceedings book reports on new and innovative solutions regarding methodologies and applications of modeling and simulation. It includes a set of selected, extended papers from the 6th International Conference on Simulation and Modeling Methodologies, Technologies and Applications (SIMULTECH 2016), held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 29 to 31 July, 2016. The conference brought together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in methodologies and applications of modeling and simulation. SIMULTECH 2016 received 76 submissions from 35 countries and all continents. After a double-blind paper review performed by the Program Committee, 18% were accepted as full papers and thus selected for oral presentations. Additional papers were accepted as short papers and posters. A further selection was made after the Conference, based also on the assessment of presentation quality and audience interest, so that this book includes the extended and revised versions of the very best papers from SIMULTECH 2016.
