You will learn about Sir Jacob Epstein (1880 - 1959), one of the most controversial and now most celebrated sculptors of the 20th Century and his influence on Modern British Art. Focusing on Adam and other sculptures by Epstein, you will explore his extraordinary story and discuss ideas of direct carving, the influences of non-Western art and Epstein's fascination with ideas of religion and creation.
