Suzy Storck
Another unbearably hot evening. 8:54pm. Suzy Storck sits by the window on this hot and airless night, waiting for her husband to come home. Upstairs she can hear her children, yelling and clamouring at their bedroom door. She's locked them in. Suzy realises she never chose any of this. She wonders how she ended up here. After tonight, she might never find her way out. This stark play, written in disrupted, non-chronological verse, reflects the lonely, monotonous, and exhausting life of a mother of three. As the minutes of the hot night pass, the action flicks back to when she worked in a chicken packing factory, met her Hans Vassily Kreuz, and how she never really wanted children. Her life now resembles a production line, as she keeps everyone and everything serviced, a life commented on throughout by a Chorus. With a chilling ending, Suzy Storck is a stark comment of society's expectations of motherhood and family. It was performed in this English translation to critical acclaim, at the Gate Theatre, London, in 2017.

Entre partitions théâtrales contemporaines et nouvelles à lire pour soi, Adeline Picault offre trois monologues. Et Elsa boit : Elsa attend, quelque peu éméchée, un homme dans un bar. Elle porte un secret : elle a tué cet homme. Pourquoi? Pour écrire blanc sur noir, "parce que écrire en noir, c'est insoutenable". Un homme à la ligne montre un jeune homme de vingt-cinq ans, magicien et prostitué à ses heures. Avant de se tuer, il s'adresse à son père absent et lui dit son amour pour un homme qui ne le regarde pas, sa vie qu'il n'a pas choisie. Émoi au bord du monde met en scène une femme amoureuse, adolescente écorchée, comédienne, qui joue dans l'écriture sa vie naissante, ici et maintenant. Elle assume un dénuement d'elle-même les yeux dans les yeux avec son public.
Le sacre de l'acteur
Cet ouvrage collectif offre une synthèse sur une figure fondamentale dans l'histoire du théâtre : l'acteur. Il dépasse les visions monographiques en proposant une galerie représentative du vedettariat et en s'intéressant à quelques destins individuels (comme Molière, Mlle George, Frédérick Lemaître etc.). Un ouvrage au carrefour des lettres et de l'Histoire.
