Empirical modelling of translation and interpreting
Empirical research is carried out in a cyclic way: approaching a research area bottom-up, data lead to interpretations and ideally to the abstraction of laws, on the basis of which a theory can be derived. Deductive research is based on a theory, on the basis of which hypotheses can be formulated and tested against the background of empirical data. Despite concerns over the potentially negative impact of computer-assisted interpreting (CAI) tools on interpreters’ cognitive load (CL), this hypothesis remains untested. Intelligent Computer Mathematics
This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of Calculemus 2014, Digital Mathematics Libraries, DML 2014, Mathematical Knowledge Management, MKM 2014 and Systems and Projects, S&P 2014, held in Coimbra, Portugal, during July 7-11, 2014 as four tracks of CICM 2014, the Conferences on Intelligent Computer Mathematics.
