This study evaluates private-sector labour relations laws by examining provincial laws (which cover the overwhelming majority of Canadian workers) and federal laws in Canada, and federal and state laws in the United States in 2008.4 The study evaluates the extent to which labour relations laws achieve balance and flexibility in the labour market. How long have psychotherapists been depicted in films? Nearly as long as there have been films -- or psychotherapists, for that matter. This isn't surprising if one considers that the Freudian revolution in psychology and the invention of motion pictures occurred at about the same time. What may be surprising is the sheer number of times that psychotherapists, in their many guises, have shown up in the movies and how their depiction has reflected changing social attitudes about psychotherapy over the last century. This comprehensive worldwide filmography examines over 5000 movies. Films in which mental health professionals appear, or in which others act in that capacity, are listed alphabetically. A preface explains the criteria for a film's inclusion, and a lengthy introduction and guide to the filmography explores the changing social attitudes mirrored by the movies. Appendices list the titles by decade; alternate titles for many films; recent releases; and qualifying adult films. This text refers to Volume 2 of a two-volume set. Volume 2 includes entries from "M" through "Z," the appendices, and index. The complete set can be obtained under ISBN 0-7864-1297-6.

Do Think Tanks Matter? Third Edition

It is often assumed that think tanks carry enormous weight with lawmakers and other key stakeholders. In Do Think Tanks Matter? Donald Abelson argues that the question of how think tanks have evolved and under what conditions they can and do have an impact continues to be ignored. Think tank directors often credit their institutes with influencing major policy debates and government legislation, and many journalists and scholars believe the explosion of think tanks since the latter part of the twentieth century is indicative of their growing importance in the policy-making process. Abelson goes beyond assumptions, highlighting both the visibility and relevance of public policy institutes in ...
