The Allium Genomes
This book describes the latest advances in Allium genome research. Allium includes plant species known for their huge nuclear genome size, which makes them ideal for somatic chromosome observations in high school experiments. In order to advance the genome analysis of A. cepa and its functional study, scientists in international research collaborations have developed several types of artificially manipulated genetic stocks and analyzed them using modern technologies. The Allium vegetable crop includes garlic, shallot, wakegi onion, Japanese bunching onion, and rakkyo. The Presidential System in Turkey
This book explores the opportunities and obstacles to a presidential system in Turkey as proposed by the Justice and Development Party (AK Party). Since the formation of Turkey's parliamentary system in 1909, there have been many attempts to replace it with an elected executive branch. After the referendum for constitutional amendment to elect the president by the people in 2007 and the elections of 2014, these discussions have increased in intensity. The author explores these debates chronologically and discusses the broader theoretical framework of these different government systems. Atölye çerçevesinde “Entegrasyon, Uyum ve Asimilasyon Kavramları”, “Suriyelilerin Sosyal Uyumuna Dair STK’ların Çalışmaları”, “Göçmen Örgütlenmeleri ve Türk Halkının Kabul Süreci” konuları ele alınmış ve çalışmanın genel değerlendirme oturumunda Medipol Üniversitesi Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Bekir Berat Özipek konuk edilmiştir. Elinizde bulunan bu rapor, atölye oturumlarında alınan kayıtların çözümlemesinden ve Suriyelilerin sosyal uyumunda sivil toplum, yerel yönetim ve eğitim kurumları temsilcileri ile yapılan mülakatlardan oluşmaktadır.
