Le colloque « Luttes armées et enjeux de la paix et de la réconciliation au Tchad » s'est efforcé de produire des connaissances sur l'analyse du contexte de paix et de la réconciliation au Tchad. Il s'agit de poser un regard sur la problématique de la paix en lien avec la sanctuarisation des luttes armées depuis plusieurs décennies. Le colloque a rassemblé des enseignants-chercheurs et chercheurs mais aussi quelques acteurs de la violence armée au Tchad (les anciens rebelles ou politico-militaires) et spécialistes des conflits armés. Cet ouvrage est une opportunité de poursuivre la réflexion sur l'actualité de l'installation, en Afrique au Sud du Sahara, au pouvoir d'État des militaires à travers les coups et contrecoups d'État.
À cheval entre le Tchad et le Cameroun, la vallée du Logone subit depuis plus d’un siècle des crises écologiques. Cette plaine inondable constitue une terre d’opportunités à l’image de la vallée du Nil. On y observe des initiatives endogènes et des interventions provenant d’acteurs externes qui ne sont pas sans effets sur l’environnement et la stabilité des sociétés rurales.
