Sociedades indígenas de la alta amazonía
Estos textos tratan fenómenos de innovación pero también de perduración en varias etnias de la Alta Amazonía, con especial énfasis en las sociedades de lengua tucano occidental en la región del río Napo y sus afluentes (la antigua Provincia de Maynas), en territorios de Ecuador y Perú actuales. Lejos de surgir en la época tardía de la explotación del caucho, como se suponía anteriormente, cambios e influencias se dieron en las sociedades indígenas amazónicas, poco tiempo después de la Conquista. Documentos existentes en diferentes archivos, escritos jesuíticos del siglo XVIII y, para algunos aspectos, la tradición oral, dejan constancia de ellos. Se hace hincapié en las siempre complejas relaciones intra-e interétnicas, pero también en fenómenos como la existencia de esclavos indígenas y los llamados “indios amigos”.

Tejer tiempos de paz
La Universidad de La Salle, mediante la Cátedra Institucional Lasallista, considero vital hacer visible a quienes han sido protagonistas de paz, a pesar de la guerra. Mujeres, hombres, comunidades que ante prácticas como la desigualdad social y la marginación, han construido experiencias de vida colectivas y sustentables en defensa de la vida y el territorio. De esta manera, luego de ocho años de generar escenarios académicos para la formación ciudadana y profesional, en el 2016 la Cátedra Lasalista propuso su segunda versión en torno al lema: Tejer tiempos de paz y su propósito central fue convocar al dialogo pedagógico a algunos de estos protagonistas, con el fin de escuchar sus diversos planteamientos sobre sus experiencias y resaltar los aprendizajes que de allí se derivan. Por ello, esta segunda versión llego como subtítulo: experiencias del país rural.
