All living things were created to grow. Stagnation was never a part of God's plan. This is especially true for His sons and daughters. Jesus calls us to come as little children, but to flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon, bringing forth rich, varied fruit in our old age. He's looking for a Body of Believers who will live and walk in His fullness. Offering simple reflections as the launching pad, Diving Boards and Trampolines Vol. I calls readers to vulnerability, honesty, action, and adventure. Through biblical meditation, creative journaling, and practical application Amy Layne Litzelman invites you to go deeper into God's majesty and higher in your destiny. Are you ready to go on an adventure? Here's the starting line.

The number of Christian women in today's professional workforce is increasing, and they are hungry for practical mentoring. They yearn to learn from someone who has climbed the ladder of success without sacrificing family or faith--something author Diane Paddison has done with excellence and grace. The stories Paddison shares about her corporate, personal, and spiritual life, as well as the lives of other women like her, are both inspiring and instructive, providing on-target advice and concrete examples of how to succeed without feeling overwhelmed or compromised. This is a working book for working women. Full of practical, proven guidance that is both professionally viable and biblically sound, each chapter includes sidebars featuring pertinent facts from current research, resources relevant to the chapter's topic, action-oriented "to do" lists, and other interactive material. Chapters also include questions suitable for discussion, making it an excellent resource for use in small groups. Work, Love, Pray is a valuable resource for professional Christian women, but it's also a must-read for the husbands, sisters, daughters, and friends who share their lives.

Pray Forward

Are your prayers working against you? Do you ever wonder if God is listening to your prayers? What if He's quietly waiting until you're ready to hear how He is praying? What if He wants to give you deeper understanding of yourself and your circumstances? What if His primary goal in your prayer-life is to lead you into knowing Him more? God is not ignoring your cries for help. But the solution is always found in His perspective. His wisdom. His truth. His friendship. If you're willing, He'll lead you into the fullness of who He is - and wants to be through you. Pray Forward, a collection of short prayers, helps direct your emotions, opinions, and focus into alignment with the One who knows all and is wholly for you. As you lean in to agree with His character, wisdom, and power, He will transform your world from the inside out.

Lynching and the Law

This title was issued under the auspices of the Southern Commission on the Study of Lynching. A work of great authority because it was produced by Southern jurists, it was cited frequently in the 1932 Senate hearings on lynching. Its conclusions are based in part on a comprehensive survey of over 3,700 lynchings, mostly of African-Americans, between 1889 and 1932. Chadbourn also asked 1,000 prominent Southern lawyers and legislators how they would prevent the practice. Using this data he proposes a model lynching law. "This excellent monograph and the proposed statute have unusual significance in view of the present possibility of further state and national legislation dealing with this urgent problem.": H.C. Brearley, Social Forces 12 (1933-34) 610.
