A flexibilização foi estudada mediante a intersecção entre os fatos sociais e a as ideologias que permearam os processos de construção e de reconstrução do direito laboral. Esse diálogo permitiu a identificação do real objetivo desse ramo jurídico, qual seja: a busca pela realização da justiça social. Nesse ponto a obra chega no cerne da discussão proposta: a realização da flexibilização da jornada alinhada aos escopos dos direitos humanos.
