James Harley, Sr. (ca.1734-1783) petitioned for land in 1756 in Georgia, and was received into membership of the Congregational Church of Midway, Georgia. "The Midway (Georgia) Congregational Church was organized by descendants of an English Colony which came first to Massachusetts (1630), to Connecticut (1635), to South Carolina (1695), and to Midway, Georgia, in 1752." Descendants lived in Georgia, Florida and elsewhere.
Volume III of a three volume set written by Carl Sandburg (titled "The Prairie Years and the War Years") covers the years 1864 to 1865.
This amazing compilation contains the records of 16,000 marriages from fifty-one Missouri counties formed before 1840. The majority of the marriage records in this work were copied from the original marriage books on file in various county courthouses. Others were copied from previously published compilations; some were copied from both sources. All Missouri counties with marriage records prior to 1840 are covered except St. Louis County and City, which have been adequately covered elsewhere. The marriages listed here are arranged in alphabetical sequence by the surname of the groom. A bride's index at the back of the book contains the names of all 16,000 women mentioned in the marriage records.
John Catlett (1622-1670), a widower, immigrated in 1650 from England to land in what is now Essex County, Virginia, with his son Nicholas and his half-brothers, Ralph and Edward Rowzie. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Texas, California and elsewhere. Includes some family history and genealo- gical data in England to about 1440 A.D.
