Evidence Of Murder

Missing On Tuesday, June 10, 1997, in Orlando, Florida, Carla Ann Larson, 30, left work for a lunch break. She never returned. Happily married and mother of an infant daughter, Carla Ann had no reason to desert her family. Initially suspicious of husband James Larson's numb reaction, detectives were shocked to learn that his sister had been murdered by a serial killer in 1990. Manhunt A massive search soon uncovered the beaten and strangled body of Carla Ann Larson. The burnt-out hulk of her Ford Explorer was found in the palmetto backwoods. Rethinking Standards through Teacher Preparation Partnerships

2003 CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title This book documents six exemplary teacher preparation programs participating in school-university partnerships in an effort to examine issues of standards in teacher education. It describes how attention to standards has played out in contrasting demographic, political, and intellectual contexts. The authors reveal the realities and consequences involved in the complex process of implementing standards in varied program contexts often having to reconcile external mandates with the needs of their students and their own program values. Working in pairs, teacher educators formed critical friend research partnerships focused on assessment, inquiry, equity, diversity, and technology. Institutional partnerships discussed include: The University of Louisville with University of Southern Maine; Teachers College, Columbia University with University of California, Santa Barbara; and University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee with Wheelock College.

Demographic Change in Australia's Rural Landscapes

The distribution and re-distribution of people across the landscape has signi cant implications for ecological, economic and social dynamics. Movement of people to urban centres (mostly from rural landscapes, especially in the developing world) is a major global phenomenon. This can result in the de-population of rural landscapes. Conversely, population growth and a changing demographic pro le have been id- ti ed for particular rural landscapes with notable examples from North America, Europe and Australia. Yet we know little of the factors that drive demographic changes in rural landscapes and even less about the implications of these changes. This book examines broad and local-scale patter...
