Wonders of Nature

  • Categories: Art

A comprehensive collection of Mughal Natural History drawings, centred on the art of Ustad Mansur with current scientific information. Includes rare Mansur paintings from Russia and Tehran. Imaginary Birds, showcasing the artist's imagination beyond the representation of realism in nature. The Mughals combined their love of nature with their love and patronage of art. By Akbar's reign the master artists of his atelier were producing hundreds of paintings of birds and animals with great accuracy and suavity for manuscripts of animal fables and adventures for the Emperor. Natural history drawing reached its highest point during the reign of Akbar's son Jahangir whose atelier most notably illustrated the Baburnama, Jahangir's great grandfather's treatises celebrated as the first systematic account of Indian flora and fauna. Among the various master artists of Akbar and Jahangir's ateliers, none are more important than Ustad Mansur who painted many images of rare and unusual birds, animals, and flowers for Jahangir. Mughal Natural History Drawings and Ustad Mansur presents these images with their correct scientific identification and other relevant details.

This book gathers the refereed proceedings of the 1st International Congress on Blockchain and Applications 2019, BLOCKCHAIN’19, held in Ávila, Spain, in June 2019. Among the scientific community, blockchain and artificial intelligence are broadly considered to offer a promising combination that could transform the production and manufacturing industry, media, finance, insurance, e-government, etc. Nevertheless, there is no generally accepted approach, nor established best practices, for combining blockchain and artificial intelligence. The 21 papers presented here were carefully reviewed and selected from over 40 submissions. They highlight the latest advances in blockchain, artificial intelligence and their application domains, exploring innovative ideas, guidelines, theories, models, technologies, and tools, and identifying critical issues and challenges that researchers and practitioners will face in the near future. We wish to thank the sponsors: IEEE Systems Man and Cybernetics Society, Spain Section Chapter, and the IEEE Spain Section (Technical Co-Sponsor), IBM, Indra, Viewnext, Global Exchange, AEPIA, APPIA and AIR institute.

Energy Storage and Conversion primarily focuses on topics profoundly relevant to electrochemical devices such as rechargeable batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells. Ion transport plays a pivotal role in the overall output efficiency of these devices. Faster ion transport remains a limiting barrier for achieving high power/energy density electrochemical energy storage and generation devices. Hence, ion conducting materials hold the most notable key to the development of such devices. These devices have established themselves as indispensable in modern society. Their uses range from small scale electronics to large scale electric vehicles. As the scope of this research area is expanding si...
