But before he was quite finished with his book, plague swept through London, killing two of his servants, and forcing Lilly and family to flee to the countryside. This is Book Three, An Easie and plaine Method Teaching How to judge upon Nativities, the conclusion of his great work, Christian Astrology. Here at last are the collected essays of the world's leading astrologer. In one comprehensive volume, Essays on Astrology makes a cross section of Robert Hand's writings available to both the beginning and advanced astrologer. Robert Hand is one of the few astrologers to successfully work and publish in both the technical and humanistic dimensions of astrology. Because of this, his work is read, reread and respected by all serious astrologers. And this book presents a comprehensive look at the various essays of this very important author. As a reference book, Essays on Astrology is an invaluable resource. Some articles written several years ago, such as The Ascendant, Midheaven and Vertex in Extreme Latitudes, have been extremely hard to find. Still others are printed here for the very first time making this not only a reprint of Robert Hand's previous works, but an important addition to the study of astrology.
Will there be peace? Will there be war? Find out with Mundane Astrology. Here, in one volume, are three classic books on the astrology of nations and states, by H.S. Green, Raphael, and C.E.O. Carter: H.S. Green organizes his book planet-by- planet. He tells what each planet will do in the 12 houses. Raphael organizes the topic by house. He tells how mundane houses work when planets are in them. In addition, both authors deal with solar and lunar eclipses, and earthquakes. Green shows the effects of eclipses in the houses, while Raphael describes them by decanate (100 sections of the zodiac). Both mention the effects of comets, although little about these mysterious bodies is known astrologi...

Dorotheus of Sidon, who appears to have lived in Alexandria, flourished in the first century AD. He wrote his Pentateuch (five books) on astrology in Greek, in verse. This translation, from 1976 by David Pingree, is from a fourth century Pahlavi (Persian) source. The first book is on the judgement of nativities. Book two concerns marriage and children. Book three is on the length of life. Book four is on the transfer of years, i.e., forecasting. Book five is on interrogations, i.e., electional astrology. In this book are the earliest known astrological charts. Dorotheus bases much of his interpretative methods on the triplicity rulers, by day and by night. All fire signs have the same rulers...
Synastry is the branch of astrology that tells us how we relate to other people. How Joe relates to Mary & what Mary may think of that. In this complete, classic guide to astrology & relationships, Robson goes far beyond the usual "his planets vs: her planets." He studies the overall weight of the two charts, the fertility of the inner planets, the condition of the 7th house. He compares her-planets-to- his-planets as well as his-houses-to-her-houses. Robson considers how strongly the individual wants relationships - and how many, whether he/she will marry early or late - or not at all, the likelihood of children, the possibility of divorce. He gives rules for wedding dates. In an extraordin...
In Astrological terms, the prenatal epoch starts at the moment of conception. According to the author, "the prenatal epoch is a certain moment of time, occurring approximately at the commencement of the gestative period... when the degree ascending on the eastern horizon, and the longitude of the moon thereat, interchange with the longitude of the moon and the degree ascending at birth, or their respective opposite points." (pg. 19) What this means is that your prenatal moon was your birth ascendant, and your prenatal ascendant is your birth moon, or the opposite points in the zodiac. There are four possibilities: If the natal moon is above or below the horizon at birth, and if it is increas...
