The sufferings of the working class in India have largely remained undocumented. The Malayalam novel ‘Chuvanna Kaladikal’ narrates the struggles of workers in Kalady plantation and the decisive intervention by AKG in their fight for existence and justice. Though the lives of the working classes have become the theme of many novels, this is the first novel based on the life of plantation workers. It not only throws light on the sufferings undergone by the workers, but reflects the energy imparted by AKG’s intervention. It shows his determination to save the workers, even while his health was deteriorating. The original book is a Malayalam novel written by C. R. Das. Translated to English by Ajith Kumar. B and Edited by Shiny Ajit.
The COVID-19 pandemic left millions grieving their loved ones without the consolation of traditional ways of mourning. Patients were admitted to hospitals and never seen again. Social distancing often meant conventional funerals could not be held. Religious communities of all kinds were disrupted at the exact moment mourners turned to them for support. Shattered Grief is an intimate portrait of how COVID-19 changed the ways Americans approach, understand, and mourn death. Based on extensive interviews incorporating a multitude of pers...
This work begins with three essays on policy issues: the case for a middle way between command economies and free market economies; the broad principles of fiscal policy for Australia in the 1990s; and an integrated set of modest proposals to get the world economy on the path to prosperity. All approaches used in these essays are associated with the broad church of post-Keynesianism and the belief that economics should produce a more just and equitable society. Later essays analyze theoretical topics in an historical context. The remaining papers are a selection of intellectual biographies, and general esays which range from the author's views on the relationship between mathematics and economics to what Adam Smith really said.

This book chronicles the rise and especially the demise of diverse revolutionary heterodox traditions in Cambridge theoretical and applied economics, investigating both the impact of internal pressures within the faculty as also the power of external ideological and political forces unleashed by the global dominance of neoliberalism. Using fresh archival materials, personal interviews and recollections, this meticulously researched narrative constructs the untold story of the eclipse of these heterodox and post-Keynesian intellectual traditions rooted and nurtured in Cambridge since the 1920s, and the rise to power of orthodox, mainstream economics. Also expunged in this neoclassical counter...
