The book summarizes our current knowledge in the molecular biology of plant mitochondria. It covers such topics as: - RNA editing - mitochondrial gene organization and expression - protein synthesis and transport - cytoplasmic male sterility Specific emphasis is placed on RNA editing. Different systems known to date in mitochondria and plastids are compared. In addition, their connection with the molecular biology involved with the functional analysis is delineated.
