This volume contains the papers on optimization presented to the 11th conference on «Methods and Techniques of Mathematical Physics», held on December 1-7, 1985 at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach.
Contains the proceedings of the March 1991 annual conference of the Southeastern Approximation Theorists, in Memphis, Tenn. The 34 papers discuss topics of interest to graduate and professional numerical analysts, applied and industrial mathematicians, engineers, and other scientists such as splines
This book contains papers on complex analysis, function spaces, harmonic analysis, and operators, presented at the International seminar on Functional Analysis, Holomorphy, and Approximation Theory held in 1979. It is addressed to mathematicians and advanced graduate students in mathematics.
The present conference took place at Oberwolfach, July 18-27, 1968, as a direct follow-up on a meeting on Approximation Theory [1] held there from August 4-10, 1963. The emphasis was on theoretical aspects of approximation, rather than the numerical side. Particular importance was placed on the related fields of functional analysis and operator theory. Thirty-nine papers were presented at the conference and one more was subsequently submitted in writing. All of these are included in these proceedings. In addition there is areport on new and unsolved problems based upon a special problem session and later communications from the partici pants. A special role is played by the survey papers als...
Functional Analysis, Holomorphy and Approximation Theory
This is the collection of the refereed and edited papers presented at the 8th Texas International Conference on Approximation Theory. It is interdisciplinary in nature and consists of two volumes. The central theme of Vol. I is the core of approximation theory. It includes such important areas as qualitative approximations, interpolation theory, rational approximations, radial-basis functions, and splines. The second volume focuses on topics related to wavelet analysis, including multiresolution and multi-level approximation, subdivision schemes in CAGD, and applications.
This book presents theoretical results, including an extension of constant rank and implicit function theorems, continuity and stability bounds results for infinite dimensional problems, and the interrelationship between optimal value conditions and shadow prices for stable and unstable programs.
