Every year, Jakarta's security forces demolish the homes of thousands of people and destroy the residents' personal property. These evictions are carried out with little notice, due process, or compensation. Far too often, the process involves excessive use of force against those facing eviction. Many thousands more of Jakarta's poor live in fear that one day the bulldozers will arrive at their community. Forced evictions--the removal of people against their will from the homes and land they occupy, without access to legal and other protections--deprive individuals of some of their most fundamental human rights and needs: adequate housing and protection of their homes. Based on more than one...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Conference on User Science and Engineering, i-USEr 2018, held in Puchong, Malaysia, in August 2018. The 32 papers accepted for i-USEr 2018 were selected from 72 submissions with a thorough double-blind review process. The selected papers illustrate how HCI is inclusive and omnipresent within the domains of informatics, Internet of Things, Quality of Life, and others. Creating efficient, conflict-free class schedules is a critical challenge faced by universities around the world. From managing room capacity to aligning faculty schedules, the complexity grows with each variable. Enter the Tasmanian Devil Optimization Algorithm, a nature-inspired optimization technique designed to solve such scheduling problems. This book, "Applied Tasmanian Devil Optimization For TimeTable Generation in Matlab/ Octave" provides a detailed, practical guide to leveraging this powerful algorithm for class schedule generation. With easy-to-understand explanations and real-world applications, this book equips you to tackle scheduling dilemmas head-on. Inside, you'll find: 1. A ...
The Covid-19 pandemic has changed our activities, like teaching, researching, and socializing. We are confused because we haven’t experienced before. However, as Earth's smartest inhabitants, we can adapt new ways to survive the pandemic without losing enthusiasm. Therefore, even in pandemic conditions, we can still have scientific discussions, even virtually. The main theme of this symposium is "Reinforcement of the Sustainable Development Goals Post Pandemic" as a part of the masterplan of United Nations for sustainable development goals in 2030. This symposium is attended by 348 presenters from Indonesia, Malaysia, UK, Scotland, Thailand, Taiwan, Tanzania and Timor Leste which published 202 papers. Furthermore, we are delighted to introduce the proceedings of the 2nd Borobudur Symposium Borobudur on Humanities and Social Sciences 2020 (2nd BIS-HSS 2020). We hope our later discussion may result transfer of experiences and research findings from participants to others and from keynote speakers to participants. Also, we hope this event can create further research network.

His victims, ranging from young students to successful professionals, all shared a common desire - the hope for a better life through mystical intervention. Little did they know that their search for enlightenment would lead them into the hands of one of Indonesia's most notorious serial killers. "The Sugarcane Killer: Unmasking Indon...
