[The role of women in entrepreneurship, management and corporate governance is regarded as central to the development and welfare of economies. Since the early 1980s, there has been increased interest in women managers and entrepreneurs, often from an interdisciplinary approach, combining, for example, sociology, psychology, management and organisational studies and economics. Nowadays, research on women in management and organisations is continuously and rapidly evolving (Paoloni and Demartini, 2016). Research on how women face new business challenges within organisations—as entrepreneurs, owners, managers, as well as workers—can contribute to understanding the new drivers affecting value creation dynamics in our knowledge-based society (Cesaroni, Demartini and Paoloni, 2017). Accordingly, this book tries to offer some insights on how women create, process and share knowledge in their business activity through the application and exploitation of novel creative ideas and solutions]

This book presents a lively debate surrounding the professionalization of leadership. With contributions from both sides of the argument, it considers the historical overview of leadership and management as a profession, questions what constitutes a profession, and critically addresses the practicality of professionalizing leadership. With a range of perspectives including political philosophy, behavioral professionalism and management history, the book intends to facilitate further discussion on the issues at stake. With a number of education programs beginning to focus on the art and practice of leading people, this debate is particularly timely.

Entrepreneurs today face many challenges, from fierce competition to economic uncertainties. Yet, amidst these external pressures, the internal struggles of maintaining psychological and emotional well-being are often overlooked. This neglect not only affects entrepreneurs personally but also profoundly impacts their businesses. Female entrepreneurs, in particular, face unique hurdles that can significantly impact their mental peace and hinder their success. Supporting Psychological and Emotional Wellbeing Among Entrepreneurs presents a timely solution, urging researchers and practitioners to reevaluate the importance of mental health in entrepreneurship. By exploring topics such as stress management, harassment, and promoting positive work environments, the book offers concrete strategies to enhance entrepreneurs' well-being. Through a comprehensive examination of social and moral values in entrepreneurship, it seeks to equip entrepreneurs and stakeholders with the tools needed to create supportive and empowering work environments.

Economic Empowerment of Women for Sustainable Development

In the global pursuit of equitable progress, the empowerment of women emerges as not merely an ethical imperative but a pragmatic necessity. The imperative of women's economic empowerment finds resonance throughout history, woven into the fabric of social movements, policy reforms, and economic progress. From the suffragette movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries to the landmark conventions on women's rights and development in the latter half of the 20th century, the trajectory of gender equality has been marked by both triumphs and trials. The 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing stands as a watershed moment, galvanizing global commitments to women's empowerment and...

Global Mindset

“Think globally, act locally” is a phrase many of us grew up hearing. What we weren’t told, however, is how hard it is to accomplish. This work mines the well-researched field of global mindset by exploring the ways global knowledge allows organizations of any size or tenure to become more effective on the global scene. It draws on a case study of an international religious community to show how global partnerships can be improved and how organizational members can grow professionally and personally from a global mindset—even if they never step foot on a plane.
