Introducción al léxico, componente transversal de la lengua
El presente manual ofrece una visión global del léxico como fenómeno lingüístico. Trata de integrar diversas facetas de la lengua a través de su observación desde el léxico, para acercarse así "a la lengua por el léxico" sin tener que recorrer los planteamientos generales que se logran ascendiendo desde la observación fonológica, como manifestación primera del fenómeno lingüístico, hasta los niveles discursivos. La teoría del léxico que aquí se propone busca ofrecer una interpretación unitaria de toda lengua natural y se fundamenta en las aportaciones recientes de los estudios que vinculan el léxico con la gramática, con la pragmática y con los avances de la lingüística cognitiva, además de las descripciones semánticas y fonológicas de las unidades léxicas, sin desconocer su peso en el procesamiento informático de hoy. Al ser el léxico un concepto que se materializa en vocabulario de las lenguas, las descripciones y los ejemplos que se proporcionan se presentan desde el vocabulario de la lengua española.
Working with Spanish Corpora
The main focus of this book is the investigation of linguistic variation in Spanish, considering spoken and written, specialised and non-specialised registers from a corpus linguistics approach and employing computational updated tools. The ten chapters represent a range of research on Spanish using a number of different corpora drawn from, amongst others, research articles, student writing, formal conversation and technical reports. A variety of methodologies are brought to bear upon these corpora including multi-dimensional and multi-register analysis, latent semantics and lexical bundles. This in-depth analysis of using Spanish corpora will be of interest to researchers in corpus linguistics or Spanish language.

Knowledge Communication
Knowledge Communication as a research field emerges as a response to the communicative core challenges of the knowledge society. At ist center is the question of how to produce and transform specialized knowledge into interactions to gain value for this kind of knowledge. The field’s foundational concepts concern a transactional understanding of communication, an ideology of convergence between communicators and an appreciation of knowledge as construction. These stem from critical discussions of insights harvested from three parental disciplines: Language for Specific Purposes, Public Understanding of Science, and Knowledge Management. In their synthesis, these foundational concepts define Knowledge Communication as a means of strategic communication. In lieu of this, the research agenda of Knowledge Communication presents a novel prism through which to discern and investigate communicative core challenges of the knowledge society.
Legal Translation
