It seems to be the case these days that advertisings companies are increasingly using sex and sex appeals as tools for selling certain products. A literature review was done covering the history of women in advertising and how they have affected the way certain industries have changed their advertising methods over time. In order to investigate whether advertisers are using sex more and more to sell their products or not, three hours every morning and three hours every night were taped for a week and analyzed for the sex content. Four hypotheses were used and administered to the commercials that were taped. After figuring the results, they were compared with results from the same study previously done by Carolyn Lin in April of 1993.
