Castlepoint
To many New Zealanders, Castlepoint evokes images of Castle Rock, the lighthouse, the motorcamp, summer horseracing along the beach, good surfing and fishing. Not everyone, though, will be as familiar with Castlepoint Station with its rich past and present. One of our oldest established stations, it is land typical of the East Coast Wairarapa: where windswept cliff-top paddocks and rugged hills grow the best carpet wool in the world, and where tough men and women have lived and worked the land for generations. Castlepoint′s history has produced some memorable characters and endearing stories, and they have been brought together here, giving an insight into the working station as it is today - vibrant, successful and poised to take advantage of farming in the technological age.
