The Landscape of Lexicography
This book consists of a series of papers that look at three different aspects of the landscape as seen in dictionaries from across Europe. Multilingual diachronic case studies into lexicographical descriptions of flora, landscape features and colours concentrate on three supposedly simple words: daisies (Bellis perenis L.), hills and the colour red. The work is part of the ongoing LandLex initiative, originally developed as part of the COST ENeL - European Network for e-Lexicography - action. The group brings together researchers in lexicography and lexicology from across Europe and is dedicated to studying multilingual and diachronic issues in language. It aims to valorise the wealth of European language diversity as found in dictionaries by developing and testing new digital annotation tools and a historical morphological dictionary prototype. Planning non existent dictionaries
There is an increasing number of dictionary types and lexical search-tools designed to respond to an ever-growing array of user needs. The quest for innovation, however, is not over and this is what this book shall shed light on. Lexicography of Coronavirus-related Neologisms
This volume brings together contributions by international experts reflecting on Covid19-related neologisms and their lexicographic processing and representation. The papers analyze new words, new meanings of existing words, and new multiword units, where they come from, how they are transmitted (or differ) across languages, and how their use and meaning are reflected in dictionaries of all sorts. Recent trends in as many as ten languages are considered, including general and specialized language, monolingual as well as bilingual and printed as well as online dictionaries.
Eastern Métis

Este livro representa a abordagem dos autores ao estudo do léxico num contexto de ensino universitário, que julgam adequada ao público a que se destina e também a um programa de investigação que os parece importante estabelecer para o Português.
Colour and colour naming: crosslinguistic approaches
The Colour and Colour Naming conference, held in 2015 at the University of Lisbon, offered a chance to explore colour naming processes from a cross-linguistic approach. The conference was an initiative of the working group Lexicography And Lexicology from a Pan-European Perspective, itself part of the COST action European Network of Lexicography. The working group investigates the various ways by which vocabularies of European languages can be represented in dictionaries and how existing information from single language dictionaries can be displayed and interlinked to better communicate their common European heritage. The proceedings gather together a selection of studies originally presented at the conference. The first section of the volume outlines a Pan-European perspective of colour names; the second section is devoted to the categorisation and lexicographic description of colour terms.
Gendering the Portuguese-Speaking World
This book explores the significance of gender in shaping the Portuguese-speaking world from the Middle Ages to the present. Sixteen scholars from disciplines including history, sociology, anthropology, linguistics, literature and cultural studies analyse different configurations and literary representations of women's rights and patriarchal constraints. Risking Antimicrobial Resistance
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is predicted to be one of the greatest threats to public health in the twenty-first century. In this context, understanding the reasons why perceptions of antibiotic risk differ between different groups is crucial when it comes to tackling antibiotic misuse.
