The year is 1938. The world is in turmoil. At a remote crossroads just north of the Rio Grande, two women are murdered. The victims are the wife and daughter of an American arms manufacturer. This novel is a deep history of that crime. Set against the political, cultural and social milieu of the 1930's and the years leading up to that volatile decade, the story establishes the means and motives of the various suspects and the eventual opportunity for the guilty to commit the final lethal act.
