William Cooper Correspondence to Alexander Lawson
Correspondence from naturalist and conchologist William Cooper (1798-1864), of New York, to Scottish-American engraver Alexander Lawson (1772-1846), dated October 15, 1831, concerning plates for a book on birds by Charles Lucian Bonaparte (1803-1857), most likely American ornithology, which was published from 1825 to 1833. Cooper gives specific instruction regarding lettering for the plate of the young male condor.
