On behalf of the ProgramCommittee, we are pleased to present the proceedings of the 2005 Asia-Paci?c Computer Systems Architecture Conference (ACSAC 2005) held in the beautiful and dynamic country of Singapore. This conference was the tenth in its series, one of the leading forums for sharing the emerging research ?ndings in this ?eld. In consultation with the ACSAC Steering Committee, we selected a - member Program Committee. This Program Committee represented a broad spectrum of research expertise to ensure a good balance of research areas, - stitutions and experience while maintaining the high quality of this conference series. This year’s committee was of the same size as last year but...
This book provides the foundations for understanding hardware security and trust, which have become major concerns for national security over the past decade. Coverage includes issues related to security and trust in a variety of electronic devices and systems related to the security of hardware, firmware and software, spanning system applications, online transactions and networking services. This serves as an invaluable reference to the state-of-the-art research that is of critical significance to the security of and trust in, modern society’s microelectronic-supported infrastructures.
This book describes the current state of the art in big-data analytics, from a technology and hardware architecture perspective. The presentation is designed to be accessible to a broad audience, with general knowledge of hardware design and some interest in big-data analytics. Coverage includes emerging technology and devices for data-analytics, circuit design for data-analytics, and architecture and algorithms to support data-analytics. Readers will benefit from the realistic context used by the authors, which demonstrates what works, what doesn’t work, and what are the fundamental problems, solutions, upcoming challenges and opportunities. Provides a single-source reference to hardware architectures for big-data analytics; Covers various levels of big-data analytics hardware design abstraction and flow, from device, to circuits and systems; Demonstrates how non-volatile memory (NVM) based hardware platforms can be a viable solution to existing challenges in hardware architecture for big-data analytics.

This book contains extended and revised versions of the best papers presented at the 29th IFIP WG 10.5/IEEE International Conference on Very Large Scale Integration, VLSI-SoC 2021, held in Singapore, in October 2021*. The 12 full papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from the 44 papers (out of 75 submissions) presented at the conference. The papers discuss the latest academic and industrial results and developments as well as future trends in the field of System-on-Chip (SoC) design, considering the challenges of nano-scale, state-of-the-art and emerging manufacturing technologies. In particular they address cutting-edge research fields like low-power design of RF, analog and mixed-signal circuits, EDA tools for the synthesis and verification of heterogenous SoCs, accelerators for cryptography and deep learning and on-chip Interconnection system, reliability and testing, and integration of 3D-ICs. *The conference was held virtually.
This title is part of UC Press's Voices Revived program, which commemorates University of California Press’s mission to seek out and cultivate the brightest minds and give them voice, reach, and impact. Drawing on a backlist dating to 1893, Voices Revived makes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarship accessible once again using print-on-demand technology. This title was originally published in 1969.
This book covers essential tools and techniques for programming the graphics processing unit. Brought to you by Wolfgang Engel and the same team of editors who made the ShaderX series a success, this volume covers advanced rendering techniques, engine design, GPGPU techniques, related mathematical techniques, and game postmortems. A special emphasi
Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems refer to the latest development in computer microchips which are created by integrating hundreds of thousands of transistors into one chip. Emerging research in this area has the potential to uncover further applications for VSLI technologies in addition to system advancements. Design and Modeling of Low Power VLSI Systems analyzes various traditional and modern low power techniques for integrated circuit design in addition to the limiting factors of existing techniques and methods for optimization. Through a research-based discussion of the technicalities involved in the VLSI hardware development process cycle, this book is a useful resource for researchers, engineers, and graduate-level students in computer science and engineering.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the EUC 2007 workshops held in conjunction with the IFIP International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, EUC 2007, in Taipei, Taiwan, in December 2007. The 69 revised full papers presented together with four invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from about 200 submissions to the seven workshops. A broad range of topics are covered.
