Chris Hughes walked away from the sizzling hot, smash hit show Love Island as its biggest star. Viewers fell in love with this cheeky, happy-go-lucky guy who surprised people by being unafraid to show his vulnerable side just as readily as having a laugh with his mates in the sun. They were captivated by the rollercoaster relationship between Chris and girlfriend Olivia and entertained by the bromance that developed between Chris and best pal Kem. But what really makes Chris tick? What made this down-to-earth country lad swap life on the farm with his family for red carpets and newspaper front pages? Chris reveals all about his life before the hit reality TV show and how the crippling anxiety he has suffered from before still haunts him to this day. He shares how he has found fame and adjusted to his new life as well as the things he is learning about himself as his life is put under the spotlight for all to see. With his trademark sense of humour and way with words, this is Chris's take on the world, his life laid bare.

Green: Enter without explosives or firing unless enemy targets are identified. Amber: Enter firing. No explosive entry. Red: Explosive entry using a grenade or charge. Enter firing at will. What happened in Helmands Sangin Valley in the spring of 2007 was nothing short of extraordinary. As the Daily Mirror's defence correspondent, Chris Hughes was the first western reporter into Iraq after 9/11, the first into Saddam's secret bunker and the only one to visit Osama Bin Laden's mountain lair. He was also the only western journalist present when US Marines killed unarmed demonstrators in Fallujah. In Road Trip to Hell, Hughes recounts numerous stories with wit and irreverence and he has a fine eye for detail and black humour that gives a truly unique insight into a terrible war.

Hardware: The Definitive SF Works of Chris Foss

  • Categories: Art

Foss’s groundbreaking and distinctive science fiction art revolutionized paperback covers in the 1970s and 80s. Dramatically raising the bar for realism and invention, his trademark battle-weary spacecraft, dramatic alien landscapes and crumbling brutalist architecture irrevocably changed the aesthetic of science fiction art and cinema. Featuring work for books by Isaac Asimov, E. E. ‘Doc’ Smith, Arthur C. Clarke, A. E. Van Vogt and Philip K. Dick, and film design for Ridley Scott and Stanley Kubrick, this volume brings together many rare and classic images that have never been seen or reprinted before. The first comprehensive retrospective of Chris Foss’s SF career. “Chris Foss’ name has become pre-eminent among sf artists... He is in love with the monstrous, with angular momentum, with inertia-free projectiles and irresistable objects.” — Brian Aldiss “[Foss’] creations are real machines, not just an artist’s dreams. They combine the two elements so essential to science fiction: realism and a sense of wonder... A medieval goldsmith of future eons.” — Alejandro Jodorowsky

Who Was Who on TV

The information herein was accumulated of fifty some odd years. The collection process started when TV first came out and continued until today. The books are in alphabetical order and cover shows from the 1940s to 2010. The author has added a brief explanation of each show and then listed all the characters, who played the roles and for the most part, the year or years the actor or actress played that role. Also included are most of the people who created the shows, the producers, directors, and the writers of the shows. These books are a great source of trivia information and for most of the older folk will bring back some very fond memories. I know a lot of times we think back and say, "Who was the guy that played such and such a role?" Enjoy!

The tragedy of Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander captured the imagination and riveted attention of viewers around the world. When the murder trial of beautiful Jodi Arias was televised and beamed internationally into foreign homes, the tragic story that unfolded of this fatally stricken young Mormon union is not something that history will quickly forget, nor will the cries from Arias supporters who believe her to have been over sentenced, be easily silenced. Despite changing the name to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1838, the killing of handsome Travis Alexander smacked and reverberated with similarity to the murders of atonement committed in those early times, a fact not overlooked by those familiar with the historic origins of the Mormon Church. Yet this similarity was never raised in court by either defense or prosecution. Since her conviction for murder in the first degree, Jodi Arias is serving out a natural life sentence at Perryville Prison, handed down by Judge Sherry Stephens.
