Twice Around the Bay
My second and final warning had come from Fergus the driver of the school bus, and the reason I found this so embarrassing was that I was not one of his pupil passengers - I was the teacher. This vibrant story follows Christina Hall through her schooldays to her marriage and departure from South Uist. Christina became a teacher in an island school, and it was during this period the army arrived on Benbecula; it was through them that she met her future husband. While he was on St Kilda, she was appointed to a post in Glasgow. It was time to leave the island, though she knew she knew that she could always return to the croft and her family.
