The Pendulum

The Pendulum: Powered by the Awakening Soul is an introduction into the personal journey of awakening of one woman. This journey led to the birthing of a Divine Energy Frequency on 3 March 2004 that enables a shift in consciousness, resulting in the awakening of others. Through the process of her personal awakening, you are shown how the awakening Soul is able to be witnessed through the use of a pendulum as it picks up the higher dimensional energy swings of the chakra sytem. Step by step we can see how our ordinary life shows us the signs of awakening as we take one step at a time toward enlightenment and full ascension into a Higher Consciousness.

The Beat and the Buzz: Inside the L.A. Art World

  • Categories: Art

The Beat and the Buzz is the history of the Los Angeles art world since 1970, as told by thirty-three of its participants, in their own words. This art-world family album captures the intimate, lived experiences of artists, dealers, curators and critics whose personal history is becoming codified as art history. Whether you're in Los Angeles, or not, this book is also about the tensions of making it as an artist, or not. Clarifying but also complicating the many factors of success, the accounts here demonstrate that it's not only who you know but also when you know them, and how they're willing to support you at crucial junctures in your career. Finally, "The Beat and the Buzz" is also just ...

Painting Moments

  • Categories: Art

Painting Moments tells the true-life story of Nick Palazzo, a brilliant and prolific young painter who died of AIDS before his thirtieth birthday. From a series of essays and interviews as well as extensive excerpts from the artist's own diaries, the particulars of his all too brief life are revealed. His character, the style and subjects of his paintings, and the critics' reaction to his work are detailed. A fourfold message emerges: love of life, acceptance of suffering, defiance of death and the translucent promise of hope. This book is a belated recognition of one man's triumph over isolation, ignorance and illness.

Defense Health Care: Issues Related to Past Drinking Water Contamination at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

In the 1980s, volatile organic compounds (VOC) were discovered in the water on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Exposure to certain VOCs may cause adverse health effects, incl. cancer. The Agency for Toxic Sub. & Dis. Reg. (ATSDR) has been examining whether individuals who were exposed to the contaminated drinking water are likely to have adverse health effects. ATSDR'¿¿s is now examining whether individuals who were exposed in utero are more likely to have developed certain childhood cancers or birth defects. This testimony summarizes: (1) efforts to identify & address the past drinking water contamination; (2) the provision of funding & info. from the DoD to ATSDR; & (3) an assessment of the design of the current ATSDR study. Clip, Stamp, Fold

An explosion of little architectural magazines in the 1960s and 1970s instigated a radical transformation in architectural culture, as the magazines acted as a site of innovation and debate. Clip/Stamp/Fold takes stock of seventy little magazines from this period. The book brings together a remarkable range of documents and original research which the project has produced during its continuous travels over the last four years starting with the exhibition at the Storefront in November 2006. The book features transcripts from the “Small Talks” events in which editors and designers were invited to discuss their magazines; a stocktaking of over 100 significant issues that tracks the changing density and progression of the little magazine phenomenon; transcripts of more than forty interviews with magazine editors and designers from all over the world; a selection of magazine facsimiles; and a fold out poster that offers a mosaic image of more than 1,200 covers examined during the research.
